“I loved my fortnight’s “creative escape” to Butterfly Villa’s jolly, little garden-level apartment. It contained everything I needed to independently cook, eat, sleep, launder, get online – or just sit back and relax.

Arlette continues:

“I found the roomy, en-suite shower a particular life-saver to revitalise and change after the heat of a trip out exploring or to start off the cooler early morning, sitting in a towel, listening to bird chatter with a chilled coffee, I brewed the night before. Also, the fridge made all fruit from the garden or market, twice as delicious and the local Piton Beer (from the 5 minute walk away, supermarket) doubly refreshing! TOP TIP keep a full bottle of water chilled and ready to grab whenever you leave…

Amanda and Mum, Syrica, were warm hosts full of helpful island knowledge. I learned a lot about my favourite things, food, gardening and wildlife, which inspired my ceramic making. I proudly took home a transparent glazed seasoning pot, a pineapple shaped garlic grater and a cashew leaf pendant to remind me of sitting in the cashew tree’s shade after a cooling dip in the pool!

PS I had to pick out my favourites of Amanda’s work too, a drip design plate, bowl and cup set, a sea blue toned mug and a cute Halloween tea light burner. Beautiful AND useful memories of my Saint Lucia Keramik adventure!”
